Our hearts are bursting with joy for the 10-year old boy who has started walking for the very first time.

Garin Morgan, from South Wales, was born with cerebral palsy, and was told by doctors he would never walk again. He has spent most of his life in a wheelchair.

However, thanks to a pioneering operation which took place in the US after his parents raised £43,000, Garin has recently taken his first steps.

Nerves in Garin’s legs were preventing the signal from his brain to reach his legs. During the ground-breaking operation, which isn’t available on the NHS, surgeons cut these nerves.

His amazing story was documented on the ITV show, What Would Be Your Miracle, which tells the story of how people’s lives are being changed by modern medicine.

“At playtime it is quite hard for me,” Garin heartbreakingly told presenter Emma Willis prior to the operation. “Sometimes some of my friends play football. I feel quite upset because they’re all having fun and I’m just like on my own and nobody to play with.”

But incredibly, thanks to the successful operation Garin was also able to realise his dream of playing football – and on a professional stage too, when the programme arranged for him to score a goal at halftime during a Cardiff City match!

“It was amazing, Garin said of the experience. “I could finally play football and I had the uniform.”

What a wonderfully happy ending for this amazing young boy. We wish him and his loving family all the best in the future.
