Massive congratulations are in order this morning following the news that popular actress, Rose Byrne, has welcomed a baby boy into the life she shares with partner Bobby Cannavale.

The star, who earned two Golden Globes for her portrayal of Ellen Parsons in hit show Damages, is understood to have welcomed her first son at the beginning of last week.

Confirming the wonderful news on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, proud dad Bobby, known for his roles in Will & Grace and Third Watch, revealed: "I had a baby on Monday, yes."

Subtly paying tribute to his partner Rose, Bobby, who also has another son from a previous relationship, continued: "You know, I didn't do anything. We [men] don't do anything and I'm so tired."

The 45-year-old star, who began dating Rose in 2012, suggested that he has experienced a little sympathy weight gain, laughing: "I think I've gained 28 pounds since Monday. I mean, I'm not kidding you. Like, this jacket fit so well, like, last Thursday. But I've been eating so much."

The couple  who chose to name their first son Rocco, are understandably over the moon since his highly-anticipated arrival, with Bobby confirming that his little boy "is doing great".

While choosing to keep much of the nine-month journey to themselves, the couple did confirm the pregnancy to TV Week magazine last November, with Bobby simply saying: "It’s a great time and we feel really excited about it'.

Welcome to the world Rocco!
