It seems that Frozen frenzy has well and truly broken out in Ireland.

As mums and dads struggle to get their hands on the much sought-after Elsa doll, it has been reported today that Gardai were called to a Dublin toy store to stop a fight that had broken out between parents over the dolls.

The incident apparently occurred in Smyths in Airside Retail Park, in Swords, after things got heated during a spot of Christmas shopping.

The Gardai arrived at the store to find the parents arguing over who was going to walk away with the prized Elsa dolls.

While no arrests were made, authorities took details from customers and are examining CCTV footage of the fracas.

This is just the latest in a series of incidents involving desperate parents going to extremes to purchase Frozen merchandise in time for Christmas.

Earlier this month, there were scenes of pandemonium in a Poundworld shop in Wales as over 2,000 customers queued to get their hands on toys from the Disney film.

According to reports, women were seen pushing each other over in a bid to get to the merchandise first, with the shop’s entire Frozen-themed stock selling out in just 40 minutes.

What a terrifying prospect. Let's hope that people will put safety first in future, no matter how desperate they are.
