The Wear Green for Premmies charity drive, by L’il Aussie Prems Foundation – the Australian organisation that provides support and services to families of premature and sick newborns – is encouraging parents to share images of their children holding photos of themselves when they were born prematurely.

The campaign is aiming to raise funds for the organisation, as well as awareness of the difficulties and challenges that come with prematurity.

“Take a photo of your prem holding an image from their time in hospital and share it on social media,” posted the organisation on its Facebook page. “Let your family and friends know why you will be wearing green for premmies on the 13th April 2016.

“We'd love to see angel parents involved by taking a photo of themselves with either a photo of their precious angel or a memento that they hold close to their heart.”

And the call-out had a fantastic response, with many proud parents sharing amazing snaps of the progress their preemies have made.

We love these poignant, powerful images. Seeing these children looking so strong and happy fills us with gladness. What a beautiful, apt way to raise awareness for prematurity.
