Written by mum-of-one Lucy, Bottlefor2 is a blog that will become your best friend! Written in a casual, conversational tone it’s the type of blog that you would read cup of tea in one hand and a cake in the other – just as if you were talking to your friends.

A self-confessed wine lover, home cook, self-help enthusiast and business owner, Lucy, who is mum to one-year-old Elsie May, has created a blog that is real, honest and above all else relatable.

Documenting her life as she returns to work and adjusts to being away from her daughter, this is one blog that you need to follow.

We caught up with Lucy, who let us in on all of her baby secrets.

1. What’s the most important thing you have learned since becoming a mum?

I’m showing my age now, but do you remember the song Got my mind set on you - famously sung by George Harrison? I was wracking my brains for an answer to this question and I kept thinking how testing parenthood is on your patience - you really need to exercise a lot of patience. I found myself singing the song and thought: "Hang on a minute, he’s got the message right here!" I’m not certain it is the most important thing I’ve learned, but patience and time will tell!

“It’s gonna take time, a whole lot of precious time, its gonna take patience and time, to do it right child”

2) What’s the most ridiculous / hilarious / unbelievable thing your child has done?

What feels unbelievable to me (after having spent 14 months with my daughter), is that she says Dada, Milo (our Cat), Garden, Granddad, Dog, Bun-Bun (her fav toy), she sings along to Let it Go, baas like a sheep and moos like a cow, but she doesn’t call me Mummy! SERIOUSLY?!

3) What’s the weirdest thing you have said or done as a parent?

I wrote a post in the early days called How to be a Noise Ninja in 20 (quiet) steps. My baby is a very light sleeper and I do anything to keep the silence so she doesn;t wake up - it’s a new literal meaning to keeping the peace!

4) Name one thing that helps keep you sane?

Wine. Mostly wine.

5) What is the best piece of advice you would give to other mums?

You know your child best. Use knowledge and instinct to guide you; listen to other mums with an open mind; take advice here and there and then apply it your way.

6) If you had to choose just one thing that you absolutely love about being a mum, what would it be?

How proud and full of love you feel with every little thing they learn and each milestone they meet. When they show off their new skills and are so pleased with themselves it fills my heart with love and joy.
