Police officials in Milton Keynes are appealing to the public for information following an attempted abduction in Wadhurst Lane near Kents Hill on Friday afternoon.

According to reports, an 11-year-old girl was approached by a man who initially asked her for directions before taking hold of her arm and demanding she get into a vehicle.

Thankfully, the youngster broke free of her assailant's grasp before striking him in the stomach and making her escape.

According to police, the man has been described as Caucasian with a sallow complexion, balding, approximately 5 foot 7 inches in height and of medium build.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing black clothing and black boots, and perhaps most significantly, was said to have a distinctive wart on one of his ears.

Commenting on Friday's incident, Detective Inspector, Phil Hayes, said: "The victim has described being approached by a man she did not know and instructed to get in to a van. No van was seen during the incident however understandably this was a distressing experience for her."

Appealing to the public for assistance apprehending the man at the centre of this case, he continued: "I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with any information about it which could assist the investigation."

Detective Inspector Hayes offered further information on subsequent police proceedings, saying: "Officers have been carrying enquiries in the area to identify the offender. If anyone has any concerns, please feel free to speak to an officer patrolling in the area or call 101 to speak to your local neighbourhood team."
