She recently came under fire for posting a photo of her two-year-old son with a soother in his mouth, but actress and producer Melissa Joan Hart has hit back twice as hard at her critics.

The mother-of-three appeared on Huffpost Live this week to address the incident, in which she was slammed for letting her child hold onto the soother at an age where many would be trying to wean their little ones off it.

The 38-year-old, who is mum to nine-year-old Mason, seven-year-old Braydon and two-year-old Tucker, said that she is determined not to pay heed to those wagging their fingers at her parenting choices.

“I’ve learned that I just have to be me. It’s my [Instagram] page – if you don’t like it, go away!” she said this week.

Indeed, she didn’t mince her words, adding: “Make your comments if you want, but I’m not going to look at them, or care. Everybody thinks they can tell you what to do. If they have the guts to say it to my face, I think I have the guts to punch ‘em.”

Melissa added that she will continue to post what she likes, when she likes – including posts of her three sons – going forward.

Good on her, we say! Being a mum is hard enough, without having others publicly criticising and wagging their fingers at every stage.

Of course, this is just the latest bizarre criticism of a star’s parenting choices that we have recently seen. Just last week, Reese Witherspoon was slammed over her choice of breakfast for her youngest child.
