Argos issues urgent recall on cot duvet amid fears of overheating

Argos has issued an urgent recall on a popular cot duvet amid fears that it could cause infants to overheat.

It is understood that the Argos Washable 4.0 Tog Duvet Cotbed exceeds the standard level of insulation.

The duvets have a batch number of 790/3076, but the number of affected products has yet to be confirmed.

"This may cause an infant to overheat. Stop using the duvet immediately,” the Trading Standards website reports.

Overheating can cause discomfort, disrupted sleep, rashes and in severe cases cot death.

The store has urged parents to stop using the item immediately and to return it to their nearest Argos as soon as possible.

Customers will be given a full refund when they return the item.

Argos have apologised for the error: “They added: "We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”
