It's fair to say that the relationship X Factor judge, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, shares with her husband Jean-Bernard has been significantly more low-key than the one she shared with ex-husband Ashley Cole.
And while this was a conscious move on the popstar's part, it has left her and her relationship open to much speculation as both the media and the public clamour for an insight into the duo's 16-month marriage.
While maintaining a dignified silence for the most part, it looks like constant reports on the couple's marriage have taken their toll on the French businessman who reportedly took to Instagram this week in order to hit back at rumours.
According to The Mirror, Jean-Barnard used his social media account as a platform to blast the stories which have been circulating around himself and his wife.
"I normally don’t read or comment… but the truth is that even when my dad died I put my life on the line for my wife," he wrote in a recent post, aimed at those keen to pick apart the pair's relationship.
Eager to dismiss rumours that all is not well between the pair, Jean-Bernard continued: "Yes I am working like everybody else to put food on the table but my priority is my wife as this is the last person that is family."
Cheryl's husband slammed reports that time spent apart was due to relationship troubles, insisting: "This is just nonsense. What matters is family and my wife is my only one left so if she need me I am always going to be there."
"My wife Cheryl is my priority and nothing else," he finished in a rare message to the public.
We wonder if Jean- Bernard's post will have the desired effect.
