It has been a dramatic few months for the star, so we are sure that the leaking of personal details of her adoption plans will not be appreciated by actress Rosie O’Donnell.

The star is currently locked in a custody battle with her estranged wife, Michelle Rounds, and now the woman who carried the couple's daughter has released personal information about their cancelled plans for a second adoption.

According to reports, Jami Weaver claims that the couple had asked her to carry another child for them, but they cancelled the arrangement when O’Donnell found out that the child had a health condition.

According to Weaver, when she informed O’Donnell that the baby had gastroschisis – a birth defect that causes the bowel to protrude into the abdomen – the actress quickly changed her mind about becoming a mother again.

“Rosie told me she could not handle having a special needs child,” said Weaver. She also revealed that, after giving birth to the couple’s daughter Dakota, she made plans to get her tubes tied – plans which O’Donnell asked her to put on hold.

“Rosie asked me not to go through with having my tubes tied, which I’d planned to do. They said they wanted me to have another child for them in the future. When I later found out I was carrying a boy, I emailed them to say I needed to know they were on board, because otherwise I would have an abortion,” she added.

Admitting that Rosie and Michelle ‘weren’t the warm people she thought they were’, she said: “I just felt like I was a dog breeding puppies for Rosie.”

According to current statistics, almost two thousand babies are born each year in the US with gastroschisis.
