Singer Elton John has taken to Instagram today, to post a moving tribute to his mum, Sheila Farebrother, 92, after she passed away earlier this morning.
The 70-year-old revealed that he was in shock at the news, and thanked her for everything.
"So sad to say that my mother passed away this morning," the singer wrote under a beautiful photo of himself and his mum.
"I only saw her last Monday and I am in shock. Travel safe Mum. Thank-you for everything. I will miss you so much. Love, Elton."
The mother/son duo have had their ups and downs over the years, including the time they fell out over two friends, both of whom worked for the singer.
In fact, up until recently, neither spoke, with Sheila telling the Daily Mail that he told her he hated her, and had never seen her grandkids.
However, Elton, who is father to Zachary and Elijah, got in touch with his mum soon after her 90th birthday, and in February he wished her a happy Mother's Day on Instagram.
