There’s no doubt that relations between world-famous performer, Madonna, and her son, Rocco, have been incredibly strained in recent weeks.

However, it doesn’t look like any form of resolution is on the horizon if recent reports of Rocco’s social media use are anything to go by.

According to The Sun newspaper, the star’s son, whom she shares with British director Guy Ritchie, has blocked her from his social media accounts, but remains connected  with his father and stepmother.

With Madonna and Guy engaging in a public battle regarding which parent their son should live with, the teen appears to have sent a less-than-subtle message to his mother by preventing her from engaging with him through his Instagram account.

Commenting on the implications the 15-year-old’s decision will have, a source close to the fractured family said: “It’s not a great sign that Rocco is blocking his mum on social media, especially after all the rumours that she was embarrassing him with her posts about him.”

Elaborating further still, the insider explained that Rocco’s choice will give further credence to the notion his relationship with his mother is at breaking point, saying: “It’s even more of a blow because he allows Jacqui and Guy to still follow him and he follows them back.”

As it stands, Rocco has, despite his mother’s protests, remained in London with his father, but is due to return to the United States for the start of the new school year.

Madonna and Guy, who welcomed Rocco into their lives in August 2000, divorced in 2008 with Guy going on to marry Jacqui Ainsley just last year.
