He regularly shares hilarious and sweet anecdotes from his family life, so it made for an interesting change of topic when Jurassic Park star Chris Pratt spoke of the challenges of raising his son this week.

The star, who is dad to two-year-old son Jack with wife Anna Faris, revealed that he often finds it difficult to discipline his little one.

Opening up during an appearance on chat show Conan, the 35-year-old said: “We try to present a unified front. You know how kids are great 95% of the time, and then 5% of the time, they’re just little a-holes?”

Recalling an incident where Jack threw a dinnertime tantrum that involved smashing a bowl of fruit, Chris admitted that he wasn’t so sure if his punishment worked.

“I take him into the other room, take a chair, face it into the corner and say, ‘You’re in a time-out. Now I want you to sit here and think,’” said Pratt.

However, Jack appeared perfectly at ease with his ‘time-out’, and recreating his son’s happy expression as he sat in the corner, Chris added: “I was like, ‘I don’t think this seems like punishment to him.’”

Indeed, when time-out was over, and Chris asked Jack if he had reflected upon his actions, the two-year-old revealed exactly what he had spent the time thinking about – trains and dogs.
