According to reports this week, Arnold Schwarzenegger is ‘dragging his heels’ over his divorce from estranged wife Maria Shriver.
Entertainment site TMZ quotes insiders as saying that while the papers were drawn up years ago, and are just awaiting the Eraser actor’s signature, he has not made any moves to finalise the split.
Schwarzenegger and Shriver were married for 25 years before they broke up, following the revelation that the star had fathered a child with the family’s former housemaid.
The breakdown of his relationship is clearly a sore spot for the 68-year-old, who previously described it as his “biggest personal failure”.
The star once told The Mirror: “We all fall at one time or another and this was a major fall. But I had to get up again because only losers stay down; winners get up. I had to move forward and say, ‘Ok, now how do I heal and how can I bring everyone together again?’”
Arnold and Maria have four children together; 25-year-old Katherine, 24-year-old Christina, 22-year-old Patrick, and 18-year-old Christopher. The actor is also father to 18-year-old Joseph; his son with Mildred Baena.
