When a high-profile couple separate, it's not always easy to maintain strong familial connections on account of the intense media scrutiny that follows in the aftermath of a Hollywood divorce.

However, if there's one Hollywood star that's intent on breaking mould, it's Two and a Half Men actor, Ashton Kutcher.

Having divorced Charlie's Angels actress, Demi Moore, in 2013, Ashton has attempted to maintain a strong relationship with his former stepchildren and if his recent contribution to social media is anything to go by, the star is doing a wonderful job.

Taking to Facebook to praise his former stepdaughter, the new dad celebrated a recent essay written by Rumer Wilis for Glamour US which focussed on body confidence issues.

The 26-year-old star confided in readers that growing up in the spotlight was far from easy, writing: "When you grow up in the public eye the way I did, everyone's looking at you and waiting for you to do something crazy or say something wrong or have a meltdown."

Recalling her experience of her teen years, the Dancing with the Stars champion went on to say: "I was constantly bullied because of my looks, so I struggled a lot with my body image. I wanted to have no butt; I wanted to have no boobs. For a long time I just wanted to look tiny and androgynous."

Celebrating Rumer's honesty and courage, the 37-year-old actor, who welcomed a baby daughter into his life in 2014, shared Rumer's piece and wrote: "It's amazing that you're telling your story and speaking up for other women."

Having continued to champion and support Rumer in the aftermath of his high profile divorce from her mother, Ashton certainly doesn't look like he intends to stop any time soon!
