I have to let you go: Stacey Solomon gets emotional as son starts secondary school

They may drive us crazy at the best of times, but we can’t help but fight back the tears when our kiddos head off to school for the first time, especially secondary school, it really proves they’re growing up.

Stacey Solomon is feeling pretty emotional as her son Zachary has started secondary school today. The mum couldn’t help but gush about the momentous day as Zach is her eldest son.

This is a major milestone for Stacey so we’re sure she was fighting back the tears this morning.

The mum-of-three posted two black and white photos of Zachary in his uniform. Alongside the photos, Stacey gushed, “And so it begins... A whole new world. The beginning of adolescence. Will the gut wrench ever ease?”

She penned a sweet note to her eldest son, “Zachary what can I say... (I promised I wouldn’t be too gushy in case your friends see this) So here goes... I’ve had the most amazing two years with you. Home education has been all that I imagined and so much more. It wasn’t always easy but it was always rewarding.

“I know that you can do anything you put your mind to, and you’ve put your mind to going to secondary school so I know you’ll be brilliant,” she gushed.

Stacey admitted she was feeling nervous about this new chapter, “I’m nervous, excited and everything in between but I know this is what you need and as much as I’d love to spend all of my time with you, I know I have to let you go.”

“Good luck my darling! I love you more than you’ll ever know. He’s as prepared as is physically possible and I still feel like I’ve forgotten something,” the mum shared. Every mum knows that feeling all too well, “Rucksack with every piece of stationary imaginable, lunch, snack, uniform on by the book and his shiny, clean @clarkskids... (I remember getting my first pair)”

She added, “I’m sure if he’s anything like me he will come back with hardly anything, scuffs on his shoes and scabby knees but as long as he comes back happy that’s all I pray for!”
