She recently penned an open letter in which she expressed her deep love for her children, so we can imagine that this latest revelation has shaken the usually unperturbed Katie Hopkins.

The former reality TV star has revealed this week that she was recently reported to social services over some of her damning tweets.

The mother-of-three made the revelation during an interview with Management Today, telling the publication: “I did have a call the other day from part of social services that they were concerned about the welfare of my children based on my Twitter feed, which someone thought might be damaging them. They said they had to call to follow up.”

In typical form, the columnist described the person who reported her as a “nutter”, adding: “If you’re a fort at the top of the hill – which is how I see myself and my family – you will get incoming, like massive great mortar shells. And you always have to be ready for the next thing.”

Katie, who is mum to nine-year-old India, six-year-old Poppy and five-year-old Maximillian even went as far as to say that her children find her celebrity status “quite cool”.

“They still see it as quite cool I am on TV. Some kid said to them that ‘their mum hates your mum’. My daughter explains it as, ‘You just speak your mind Mum, and not everyone likes your mind,’” Katie added.

Katie recently revealed that she has local police on standby for the safety and protection of her family.
