Police in Nottinghamshire are appealing for witnesses following a crash on the M1 at 3pm on Wednesday, August 22nd.
A two-year-old girl, from Yorkshire, was tragically killed in the incident which involved a car and a lorry.
A 30-year-old woman was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.
A six-year-old boy also in the car was unharmed.
The crash occurred northbound just after the slip road between J25-J26. The road was closed off for six hours following the incident.
Police are urging witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.
