Queen Elizabeth has always been known for her beloved Corgis.  Her and her faithful companions have been inseparable.

So, it is especially heartbreaking to hear that the Queen's iconic association with her corgis is no more.

Her last corgi has passed away, says The Daily Mail, and it has been a tough time for the monarch.

The 92-year-old said goodbye to Whisper just months after her other dog Willow died earlier this year.

Whisper was given to her by a former staff member whose wife would mind the corgis while Her Majesty was away,

The dog lived a full life at 12-years-old, making him almost ten years younger (in dog years) than his royal owner’s current age.

Over the past two years, the queen had grown especially close to Whisper, who would trail behind in her wake as she walked about the palace.

While the Queen still has two dorgis, a dachshund and corgi mix, to keep her company, the absence of her former friend is still deeply felt.

She has had a corgi by her side since 1944 when she received her first pet called Susan as an eighteenth birthday present.

She has been breeding the dogs ever since after falling in love with their friendly nature.

It is hard to believe that the Queen and corgi duo is no longer.

Hopefully she can lean on her dorgis, Candy and Vulcun, to comfort her as she reflects on the loss of her devoted pet.
