Recently, Michelle Heaton opened up about her plans to have a hysterectomy.
The mum-of-two made the decision to have a double mastectomy in 2012 after learning she was carrying the BRCA2 gene, and has now decided to have a hysterectomy.
Michelle opened up about the decision, saying that it is much more than just not being able to have anymore children: “A hysterectomy isn’t just about giving up the chance [to have more] children … It’s about giving up my womanhood. Everything that’s going to go is everything that sets me apart from a man. It’s a heartbreaking and life-changing decision.”
The singer also spoke of how grateful she is to have her two children, Faith and Aaron-Jay: “Everytime I look at my kids, I know why I am doing this, so I’m around and there’s no risk of ever leaving them without a mum.”
