A Canadian couple who let the internet name their daughter have revealed her name - and it isn't that crazy after all.

Alysha and Stephen McLaughlin from British Columbia in Canada, took to the internet and created namemydaughter.com, to see what the world could come up with.

And, as with everthing, they were not disappointed. The first choice for the little baby's name was Cthulhu, a fictional cosmic entity. Thankfully, the name Amelia was also a top contender.

Alysha and Stephen annouced their daughter's birth on Facebook, writing: "All bow down to the great and powerful Cthulhu". Thankfully they were only joking and the little girl's name has now been finalised as Amelia Savannah Joy McLaughlin.

In reference to the decision to ignore the winner of the naming challenge, Chthulha, Amelia's dad said: "Unfortuntely internet I know better than to trust you. We will ultimately be making the final decision, Alas my daughter shall not be named WackyTack692."
