A photo of a granddad staring sadly down at his burger has tugged on the heartstrings of people all over the world.
Why? Well according to his granddaughter Kelsey Harmon, he invited all six grandkids to his house for dinner, yet she was the ONLY one to turn up.
“Dinner with papaw tonight… he made 12 burgers for all 6 grandkids and I’m the only one who showed. Love him,” she tweeted.

“So I sit down and get a plate,” Kelsey then told Buzzfeed News, “but he waits because he wanted to make sure everyone else got plenty. Well about 30 minutes pass and he decides he’ll eat just one. An hour goes by and nobody shows. I could tell he was disappointed, but I made sure to stick around and hang out with him. We had a really great time.”
And according to Kelsey he even made their childhood favourite dessert, homemade ice cream!
Kelsey’s tweet quickly went viral; with people all over the world expressing their sadness that only one person came to eat Papaw’s burgers.

However, her wayward cousins were quick to feel bad about missing the dinner (well being shamed by the Internet is one way to make that happen!) and Kelsey’s cousin Brock tweeted that he had gone to his Papaw's for burgers not long after.

And what does Papaw make of the whole thing? “He appreciates all the kind words and he is fine,” Kelsey told Buzzfeed News. “He knows we all love him very much.”
She’s also happy the tweet went viral, as “it’s made young people realise how important family is.
“I made just one person call their grandparents and check on them, then it’s all worth it,” she added. “I think the world of my Papaw and I want him to know how loved he is.”
What a great granddaughter she is, we’re sure her Papaw must be very proud. Now we’re just gonna go call our own grandparents. Back in a jif…
