Being pregnant is a waiting game: waiting to tell people, waiting for the scan, waiting for a trimester to end and waiting for your bump to finally show.
 
However, milestones are not just for passing a trimester, they happen throughout your nine months:
 
Your first scan
Seeing your baby in black and white on the monitor will make your heart feel like it is about to explode with pride.
 
When you find out if it’s a boy or a girl
If you decide to find out whether you are having a boy or a girl, the day you are given the answer to that ultimate question – ‘is it a boy or a girl?’ will be one of the most exciting days of your life.
 
The first morning you don’t get sick
After spending at least six weeks vomiting in the morning, the first morning you wake up and you don’t feel nauseous will be cause for celebration. Now you can finally enjoy being pregnant.
 
Finding the name
Choosing a name for your baby is one of the hardest decisions you will ever have to make, but when you do finally settle on something you like, you will feel like you are floating on air.
 
Antenatal class
When you go to your very first antenatal class things will finally feel real and you will meet people who are going through the exact same thing as you.
 
Buying your first baby outfit
Buying your very first baby outfit in the shop will make things feel so real.
 
First contraction
When you experience your first contraction there is no going back. It won’t be long before you are cuddling your tiny little baby in your arms.
 
When you realise you are to going to be a mum  
When it suddenly hits you that you are about to become a mum your whole world will change for the better.
 
Finishing the nursery
When you finally have the nursery finished - the cot is in place, the walls are painted and the monitor is waiting to be switched on - you will be able to finally relax.
