Travelling is meant to be an enjoyable experience not a stressful one, but when you are going on holidays with a few kids it can be a little overwhelming.

In order to make your experience a little easier, make sure you take note of the following ten hacks:

1. Call your bank to let them know you are going abroad so they don't cancel your card for 'suspicious activity'.

2. If you forget your charger, there is usually a USB port at the back of your hotel’s TV where you can charge your phone.

3. If travelling by car, stop food spilling over by giving your kids small baskets lined with parchment paper to use as plates.

4. The last thing you want to do is have your shampoo or conditioner spill all over your clothes, so cover lids with cling film and sellotape.

5. Pack individual outfits into a sandwich bag so that your kids will know what to wear every day.

6. Whether you are travelling by plane, train or automobile, pop a first aid kit in your handbag so that you aren’t rummaging in your suitcase for a plaster.

7. Pack dryer sheets in with your clothes so that they smell nice when you arrive at your destination.

8. Bring a pen in your handbag - you always need a pen when travelling.

9. Unpack your bags and put your clothes away when you arrive otherwise you'll be living out of your suitcase for the next week or two and you will never be able to find anything.

10. Bring your own water bottle.
