Amy Huberman overcome with joy as she receives copy of her first children’s book

Amy Huberman has written a children’s book!

The actress and writer has previously published two adult fiction books, but now she is venturing into the world of children’s literature.

Taking to her Instagram feed this morning, Amy expressed how delighted she was to have finally received a physical copy of her new book, titled The Day I Got Trapped In My Brain.

“This will never not be surreal. The first copy of your book you get into your hands,” the 43-year-old gushed in her caption. “And it will never not be terrifying!”

Amy went on to describe the struggles and everyday occurrences of what it is like to write a book. “From brain to laptop to daydreaming to faffing to procrastinating to sweating to ordering random crap online when you really should be writing (I now own giant metal pipe yolks for rubbing serum into my face which makes your skin feel nice but weirdly does not help you finish a book) to the idea of the thing finally being A THING.”

Amy then continued to joke about breaking the author ‘protocol’ and not doing the traditional social media posts. “I opened my very first copy today after my publishers sent me my very first box of my books and then I put it back in the box and cellotaped it back up again because I forgot I was supposed to film myself opening the box and now I know I will NEVER make it as a YouTuber who opens loads of kinder eggs online and says ‘ooooooh look at this thing inside this other thing’”.

Amy concluded her post by thanking her 465K Instagram followers for supporting her latest adventure. “I am so grateful to my publishers @scholastic_uk and to you stunning humans for all the pre-orders. Thank you thank you,” she praised.

Many of Amy’s friends and followers have congratulated her on her hard work.

Bloodlands star Charlene McKenna praised the fellow actor with numerous clapping emojis.

“Congratulations beauty this is wonderful j’adore”, professional Arthur Gourounlian also commented.

Amy published her first book, Hello Heartbreak, in 2009, followed by I Wished For You in 2012.

The Day I Got Trapped In My Brain is targeted for children between the ages of 8 and 12. The book is set to be released on Thursday, September 1.

Congratulations Amy!
