Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke has become a dad at the age of 50.
His girlfriend Hannah Summers, 41, has given birth to twins, a boy and a girl, and Anton announced the exciting news on Instagram.
Anton shared a photo of his signature top hat and cane with two pairs of baby booties, one with pink ribbons and the other blue.
The Strictly star couldn’t contain his excitement about the new arrivals as he gushed “Oh my! The little dancing feet have arrived. Mum and twins are perfect and dad is ridiculously excited!"
Last December, he confirmed that the couple were expecting a boy and a girl, according to The Mail Online.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Anton said: “We are going to have one of each.”
He joked that they would name the twins “Anton and Antoinette.”
The couple announced Hannah’s pregnancy in November but it’s believed they’d been trying to have children for some time.
Anton broke the news by tweeting “We hear the 'tippety-tap' of tiny feet!”
He used the same photo to announce the pregnancy but at the time, the ribbons on the baby booties were plain.
Sources suggested that the couple may have turned to IVF to conceive the twins.
Anton was thrilled about the pregnancy saying: “You can't describe how it feels, it's very difficult to describe. It's unbelievable.”
Their relationship has been 'very happy' he says, for six years and even spoke about plans to marry Hannah in 2017.
Anton and Hannah have been together since 2007.
But he kept his romance with her under wraps for several years and didn’t talk about his personal life during interviews.
However meeting Hannah changed all that. Speaking about his girlfriend, Anton said: “Performing was the ‘woman’ in my life, if you like - but then Hannah came along. She’s just perfect.”
“She’s very beautiful, clever, but also really kind.”
Anton is one of Strictly’s longest serving dancers, having been with the show since 2004.
He has danced with several celebrities, including Esther Rantzen, Kate Garraway and most memorably, Ann Widdecombe.
However, he has never won the coveted glitter ball. His best performances beside Katie Derham in Series 13 and actress Laila Rouass in Series 7, only getting him to fourth place.
Such exciting news, we can't wait to hear their names.
