Micah McDade has cerebral palsy. Because of this, the teen has spent his life in a wheelchair.

But as his graduation day approached last week, the Oklahoma boy decided he wanted to walk up and collect his diploma like everyone else.

Without breathing a word to anyone about what he was planning, Micah spent months practising and preparing ahead of Friday’s ceremony, building on the string of surgeries he’s had throughout his life to improve his mobility.

To incredible cheers, Micah was helped up from his chair and made his way slowly across the stage, with the help of a walking frame and kind school staff.

His parents Mark and Anisa McDade told reporters they couldn't be prouder, and cried tears of joy as he took his first steps. Meanwhile, his fellow students were so impressed and happy for him that they gave him a standing ovation.

The graduation announcer was even more emotional watching the moving scene unfold.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve been doing this a long time,” the announcer said as Micah was helped back into his chair. “That is the best ever!”

Luckily, the special moment was caught on camera. Since it was uploaded to Facebook, it has been viewed over 180,000 times and has garnered thousands of comments praising Micah for his courage and determination.

“I'm crying like he was my child. Simply amazing,” said commeter Andrew Stubs Johnson.

"That's the most beautiful thing and I'm sure his family is very proud of him,” said Micki McCree.

We're on the verge of tears here, too. You can watch the heartwarming moment below, but be prepared for the waterworks.
