We wouldn't dare suggest to have an intimate knowledge of your laundry pile or the regularity with which you tend to it, but something tells us you - like us - are not washing your bras after every three wears.

We're right, aren't we? And that is because you are a normal human with a billion other things to do.

But according to the good folk behind London-based lingerie stylists, Rigby & Peller, we're doing ourselves a major injustice by not peeling off our bras and flinging them in the wash after their third outing.

Speaking to The Huffington Post, Candece Etafo, the company’s boutique manager for a New York City branch, not only encouraged ladies to wash their bras after three wears, but suggested we should be alternating our bras on an almost daily basis.

We know - we didn't think that was a thing either.

And if you - like millions of other women - are the proud owner of at least 30 bras, but generally switch between two or three, you're going to want to up your game on that front.

Candace insists we should own 7 to 10 bras each which we should be switching between on the regular. From T-shirt bras to sports bras and from strapless to balconette - something tells us Candace would balk at the greying granny one we opt for on daily basis.

Offering a little advice to the brassiere buffoons among us (that'd be us), Candace explained: "Ideally we want to hand wash with a lingerie wash. However, I’m a realist, I know we live in a busy city so if you do have to, a lot of new machines have a hand wash cycle or a delicate cycle."

"You can close the bras and put them inside a wash bag. After they’re washed you want to hang them dry," she added.

Thanks Candace! We'll get right on that...
