Actress Eva Mendes has been extremely private throughout her pregnancy and first ten weeks of motherhood, but she shared a few details on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week.
The star even went so far as to share a first picture of little Esmeralda - well, kind of...
Cheeky host Ellen asked Eva if she could let viewers see the picture the actress had sent of her little one - but instead she showed the audience a bizarre image of Eva's face mixed with her boyfriend Ryan Gosling's.
"Isn't she adorable!" joked Eva. "Very exotic."
This isn't the first time Ellen has shared the "first picture" of Eva and Ryan's baby - shortly after the birth she tricked viewers by holding up a reflective frame which obscured the photo inside.
Despite keeping her baby's picture out of the media, Eva did open up about her and Ryan's transition to life as parents. "We're getting the hang of it... I'm exhausted," she said. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
Speaking about her decision to keep her pregnancy a secret until just a couple of months before her due date, Eva said it was out of concern for her little one. "We knew it was going to be very hard for her to have privacy and we thought, 'Well, this is the first opportunity... to protect her."
The actress also opened up about the pressure for those in the limelight to lose weight very quickly after giving birth. "The whole bounce back thing, I’m like, ‘Oh gosh, ease up. It’s okay, we don’t have to,'” said the 40-year-old. “Eventually, maybe, but certainly not in a couple weeks.”
Discussing her amazing post-pregnancy look, Eva said her weight loss was all down to breastfeeding. "[It] really does help to shrink your uterus back to normal size. It does! I know it’s a really weird thing to say, but it does," she told Ellen.
