Sir Marcus Setchell who led the team of doctors was made Knight Commander for ensuring Kate Middleton had a save delivery last July.
Prince William knighted Sir Marcus at a ceremony that took place in Buckingham Palace today.
After the Duke of Cambridge had knighted Sir Marcus he also gave the doctor updates on how George was doing since he last saw .
The 71-year-old doctor was also responsible for treating Kate, when she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum at the beginning of her pregnancy.
Sir Marcus has served as the Queen’s surgeon-gynaecologist for the last two decades and decided to announce his retirment earlier this month.
Doctor Setchell has also been present for other royal deliveries including the Countess of Wessex's two children: Lady Louise Windsor and James Viscount Severn.
