The moment was undoubtedly a high-point for the 19-year-old model - who currently resides in New York where she is furthermore studying for a degree in communications.
However, and both flanking the winner while holding her hand, Top 5 finalists Miss Philippines Catriona Gray and Miss Kenya Evelyn Thungu couldn't hide their personal disappointment as the result was announced.
Stephanie also beat runners-up Miss Philippines Catriona Gray and Miss Kenya Evelyn Thungu to nab the title.
Miss England Elizabeth Grant, Miss Ireland Niamh Kennedy, Miss Wales Ffion Moyle, Miss Northern Ireland Emma Carswell, and Miss Scotland Lucy Kerr all failed to place.
