Harry and Meghan wont reveal who baby Archies godparents are

The christening of Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor will take place on Saturday, July 6 at the Queen’s private chapel but details of the special occasion are set to remain private.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have requested a private ceremony and press will not be allowed to take photos at the chapel.

Instead, the parents will release a series of photos themselves rather than having the media there on Archie’s special day.

Photographer Chris Allerton will take photos of the family which will be shared with the public afterwards.

One major detail is also being kept private, much to the disappointment of the public. Fans of the new parents were gutted to hear that names of Archie’s godparents will not be released.

The names of his six godparents will remain private. According to royal correspondent Chris Ship, the chosen godparents are not celebrities or public figures as it was previously believed.

He said that Harry, Meghan and the godparents all agreed that it would be best to keep their identities a secret.

He wrote, ‘The godparents, I’m told are not public figures or celebrities, but private citizens. And therefore both they, and Harry and Meghan, don’t wish their names to be made public.’

25 guests, including Archie’s six godparents, will attend the christening on Saturday. Prince Charles, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland will be in attendance.

The christening will be performed by Justin Welby.
