In addition to being one of the first shows to give an accurate portrayal of female sexuality, noughties television sensation, Sex and the City, was known for its fashion-forward characters.

And its shoes - its hundreds and hundreds of shoes.

But while most of us are happy to allow the show its place in style history, there are others among us who are on a mission to remind us that the four New Yorkers - and their string of suitors - often fell short of the mark when it came to their wardrobe choices.

In an Instagram account called everyoutfitonsatc, die-hard Sex and the City fans can trawl through the casts' numerous ensembles and pour scorn on the somewhat questionable accessorising that went on back in the early noughties.

From Carrie's knee-high socks paired with open-toes shoes to Miranda's jaunty necktie teamed with a strapless dress, this account reminds us that when it comes to our favourite show of all time,it may be time to remove the rose-tinted glasses.
