None of us will deny that we have a special relationship with food, be it good, bad or indifferent.

However, as parents, it can be quite easy to get lazy and uninventive when it comes to what we serve up everyday.

That got us thinking about food inspiration, and where to find it - the natural conclusion being the beautiful Internet.

We did some digging, and found some of the most amazing food Instagram accounts out there that will inspire you to embrace your inner chef (if and when you have the time).

1. Breakfast Criminals

Breakfast is, without a doubt, the most important meal of the day. However, it also happens to be an easy meal to forget about, or skip out of sheer inconvenience.

Ksenia Avdulova is the social media strategist-slash-speaker-slash-yogi and founder of this amazing food blog, that gives breakfast a whole new meaning.

This Instagram account features gorgeous smoothie bowls that are packed with colour and nutrients, and some of the most delicious looking pancakes we've ever seen.

Ksenia shares all of her recipes online, and none of them are particularly difficult, so what's stopping you?

One of my 2016 highlights was creating this superfood porridge bar with @livebeaming! Matcha cashew cream, coconut yogurt, wild berry chia jam, addictive overnight oats & all They're giving away a breakfast on their IG right now, don't miss it! I wrote everything about how it came together on breakfastcriminals.com  I get lots of Q's from you guys about how this or that project happened, or how I grew my website to be a profitable business I love like my child. The formula is ALWAYS is the same:  dream it up, have a clear intention, do good work & be kind. If you wanna read more about this woo woo kinda manifestation stuff that I live by, I'm sharing more of it on www.digitaloralive.com, my second child  #breakfastbeaming #matchanonymoush

2. Vibrant and Pure

Food stylist and photographer Adeline Waugh is the wonderful human behind the Vibrant and Pure Instagram account, and the creator of the delicious mermaid toast we fell for last week.

I guess mermaid toast is officially a thing if @foodandwine did a feature on it... what!? Beyond flattered...the name sticks for this aquatic creation. I feel like I'm about to go on a mild rant: So, this happened when I put unicorn toast out there too... there will be so many wonderful comments and articles covering it- but then there are also so many people and articles hating on it; saying it's "silly" and asking, "why?" Or "who has time for that?!" Let me just put this out there: I am just having fun! I am a food stylist and I like to create beautiful things using food- I've never claimed to be starting a trend or a putting out a new recipe that is super practical- it's 100% impractical, I just like to play around in the kitchen and attempt to create something aesthetically pleasing and unique from time to time. Also, I don't know about you, but with everything going on in the world today, sometimes I just want to look at some colorful food. Okay- rant over, phew  I shouldn't even pay attention to the negativity when there's so much positivity from everyone out there, and for that- I'm extremely appreciative!  Link in bio to check out the F&W article on #mermaidtoast #vibrantandpure

Adeline posts stunningly vibrant food pics, encouraging everyone to use colour in their food - through fruit and vegetables.

Rather than using food colouring, this foodie opts for  natural pigments such as beetroot and turmeric to achieve that vibrant colour in her magical mermaid and unicorn toasts.

If these gorgeous snaps don't inspire your cooking, we don't know what will.

Her feed is filled with glorious creations, all of which are relatively easy to make.
