Kittens are meant to drink milk. We all know that.

But as they grow into adults cats they're not meant to.

And strawberry milk? Well, we're pretty sure that's a no-no.

So, in fairness, we're not surprised this young girl panicked after she found her feline friend having a few sips of the pink stuff.

In fact, Maggie was so worried, she emailed her local animal hospital (as you do) seeking their advice.

"Hello. My cat, Shadow, was watching T.V. with me and drank a few sips of my strawberry milk," she wrote.

"It had been on the table and he drank it when I wasn't looking.

"I am concerned how this may effect him because I do not know if he has ever drunken milk or strawberry milk."

An email we got this morning at the Animal Hospital I work at.

The youngster was the only one awake at the time, and she was so worried about her furry friend's health that she quickly sent the mail.

"I am also concerned because I am the only one in my family who is awake and I am only 12 and a half so I don't know what to do. Please help me."

So is the cat OK?

Yes.

The vet, known as Chief Acorn on Reddit, got back to Maggie that day to tell her Shadow would be fine.

"Basically we told her cats gonna be OK. But milk isn't the best of things for shadow."

Phew!
