She only announced the news that she is expecting a baby last week, but already mum-to-be Maia Dunphy has been receiving some not-so-nice messages regarding her pregnancy.
The RTE presenter, who revealed that she is expecting a baby boy with her comedian husband Johnny Vegas, has asked those telling her that ‘her life is over’ to kindly refrain from spoiling this happy time for her and her family.
“Can people please stop sending me ‘you’ll never sleep again’ and ‘your life is over’ messages. Really not helpful,” said the 38-year-old.
Maia has also opened up on the downside of finding out her news after having moved to London, admitting that she is finding it tough being away from her loved ones.
“It was a tough first few months as I had just moved to London when I found out, and I could have done with a bit longer to settle in, but I am regularly told that there is never a perfect time,” she added.
Maia announced her news by sharing a photo of her baby scan, cheekily photoshopping in a pint glass, with the message: “Well Johnny Vegas, at least we know he’s definitely yours”.
We hope Maia ignores those awful messages and can start getting excited about the wonderful journey ahead.
