A 16-year old teen with Down syndrome has gone viral after the letter he wrote asking for a job was shared on social media by his mum.

Aussie teen Addison Quinn laid out the (compelling) reasons he would be an excellent employee in the sweet and sincere note.

“Hi, my name is Addison. I’m 16 years old,” wrote the industrious teen. “I am currently looking for a job, maybe 1-2 hours on the weekend.

“I am very good at wiping tables, cleaning up and sweeping the floor. This is just a few of my many talents. I have a great personality and get on with people.

“I have trouble with my speech but can follow short instructions, when I have done the task a few times I can remember what to do. At home I wash my own clothes and hang them on the line. I put the rubbish out and feed my dogs.”

Anyone on the Central Coast NSW who can assist, please consider favourably. I will be your next customer!

The letter was shared by thousands of people and heartwarmingly, has been met with an incredible response.

Job offers have flooded in all around the country from major companies like McDonalds and Australian retailer Coles, as well as from many smaller companies and local employers.

People commenting on mum Lisa Quinn’s Facebook page have roundly praised the lad for his get up and go.

“Unfortunately I do not have a job for you Addison, but I would like to tell you about my son Adam,” wrote one. “He is 30 years old now and has been working for 10 years at Hungry Jacks. He works 15 hours a week over 4 days, he too has some speech difficulties but that in no way impedes his ability to 'flip' burgers. Good luck young man, I am sure you will do well in life. To anyone who has a job for this eager young person, you will not be sorry I am sure, he has a winning smile and seems very eager.”

While a fellow mum of a child with Down syndrome was heartened by the letter.

“Dear Lisa,” she wrote. “As a mother of a child with Down Syndrome, I am looking to the future of how my child will make her way in the world. I will have you and Addison in my prayers. You must be so proud of him!”

According to reports, Addison is now in the ‘interview process’. And with his attitude (and that smile!) we’re pretty sure he’ll do amazingly!
