On Twitter, the team behind an account for the Wimbledon and Putney Commons area asked members of the public to stay away from the area in the aftermath of the crash.

“Following an incident at the edge of the Common on Camp Road, the public are asked to avoid that area of the Commons to allow free access to the emergency services. Thank you,” they wrote.

The Study Preparatory School is an all-girls school, which costs around £5,565 per pupil per term. The school is situated on Wimbledon Common, just a mile away from the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club that hosts the Wimbledon tennis tournament, which began on Monday.
