The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reveal where Archie was born

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have released their baby boy’s birth certificate. The new parents have finally revealed where their son Archie was born.

Despite reports of wanting a home birth, Meghan actually gave birth to their son at Portland Hospital in Westminster.

The former actress was hoping to give birth at their home Frogmore Cottage but it is believed she was taken to hospital by her husband in the early hours of the morning on May 6.

The couple did not want the public to know where Meghan had chosen to give birth as they wanted the experience to be private and personal.

Shortly before they welcomed their son into the world, the couple issued a statement confirming that their birth plan would not be disclosed to the public.

They shared: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby. Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plan around the arrival of their baby private."

The Duchess gave birth to their first child on Monday, May 6. Baby Archie was born at 05.26 am and weighed a healthy 7lbs. 3oz.

Harry stayed by Meghan’s side for her entire labour and later shared the news with select members of the press.

It is understood that the new parents headed home later that day and enjoyed their first night together as a family-of-three.

According to royal reporter Omid Scobie, Harry and Meghan enjoyed a peaceful and emotional night at home with their baby boy.

We’re sure Harry and Meghan have been enjoying every second with little Archie.
