If your little ones get hours of fun and laughter out of Lego, a trip to Legoland will simply be a dream come true.

Here are a few tips on how to make the most of your Legoland visit while staying on budget.

Before your visit

1. Pre-book
Save money and guarantee your entry by pre-booking your park and car park tickets online, and printing them off at home.

2. Check height restrictions
Measure your child’s height at home and plan which rides you can enjoy in advance by checking for any restrictions online.

3. Get there early
The turnstiles open around 9.30am - arrive early to ensure you are ready to enjoy the rides at 10am.

On arrival

1. Where to go first
Head to Knights Kingdom, Pirates Landing, and Kingdom of the Pharaohs first and work your way back through the park, as these are the quietest areas of the park in the morning.

2. Invest in a Q-Bot
Invest in a Q-Bot Ride Reservation device at the beginning or in Lego City to beat the queues and get the most out of your day.

Around the resort

1. Have lunch when others aren't
Try to stop for lunch a bit earlier or later than normal, then you can go on the rides while everyone else is eating.

2. Leave the best to last
Head to the big rides like The Dragon, Viking River Splash and Atlantis Submarine Voyage after 5pm when the park is winding down to avoid the queues.

Heading home

1. When to shop
The Legoland Big Shop gets busy at the end of the day. The shop is much quieter between 12pm - 4pm, if you planning on a spot of shopping before heading home.

2. Enjoy a quick getaway
On leaving the resort, turn right on the roundabout to avoid the Windsor traffic to the M4. Alternative routes are signposted.

3. Get an annual pass
Enjoyed your day but didn't get to see everything you wanted to? Upgrade to an annual pass and get a refund on your entry fee.
