Two teenage girls – one Muslim, one Jewish – have inspired people the world over with their brilliant Halloween costume.

Best friends Casey Pearlman and Yasmin Idris we talking about what their religions had in common, when Casey’s dad Jeff hit on the term ‘Juslim’.

So for Halloween the girls decided to go a bit creative – dressing up as superhero duo  the ‘Juslims’, complete with ‘intolerance fighting’ superhero capes.

Jeff shared a photo of the girls’ costumes with the caption, “My daughter is Jewish. Her best pal is Muslim. For Halloween they created a superhero team: The Juslims. I've rarely been more proud. Truly.”

His tweet quickly went viral all over the world, even getting retweet by J.K Rowling.

“If you’re a kid and you make a fun costume with your friend, and you don’t think anything of it,” she tweeted. “And then there’s people all over the world who are responding to your homemade superhero costume, it’s pretty special.”

Yasmin and Casey’s costume is amazing in that it shows that we should be looking at how we’re similar, not how we’re different.

“The delightful thing about their costume is that it was thoughtless,” Casey's mum, Catherine, said. “To me, their biggest statement is that it wasn’t a statement to them,” Catherine said. “They don’t feel different to each other. They feel like eighth-grade girls.”

And the girls are thrilled their peaceful message has been spread far and wide.

“I’m Muslim and she’s Jewish; I’m black and she’s white. I think it’s really empowering for people to see us as role models in saying let’s stop the war and to show equality between all people,” Yasmin told Buzzfeed News.

While Casey added: “Me and Yasmin both disagree with almost everything that [Trump’s] deciding to do,” Casey said. “That didn’t at first influence our costume idea. But when we realised it was standing up to what he believes in, that kind of made me really happy.”
