Just a week after two of her kids set up Instagram accounts, Katie Price is defending her decision on national TV.

Talking about 11-year-old Junior and nine-year-old Princess joining Instagram, the mum-of-five explained her reasoning behind the decision after a week of backlash.

“I find it an absolute insult when people give me stick, I’m a really good mum and I will protect them with my heart,” Katie said on Loose Women.

While Junior and Princess now launch their own careers in the spotlight, Katie says that platforms like Instagram are necessary in their line of work.

“They are now being booked themselves for TV shows, modelling jobs, this and that and social media is the future.”

Katie said that it’s not just about work, Junior and Princess now watch their friends enjoy time on social media.

“All their friends are all on Instagram. Some have open accounts, some are private. And I’ve been continually saying ‘no, no, no, no, no!’”

However, Katie has now found what she thinks is a good compromise.

“I told them ‘this is the deal; if you want to be on Instagram, I have your passwords and you go on it when I’m next to you.’

“So I sign them in and I sign them out. I monitor the messages and block people who are nasty.

“They’ve got to have a bit of normality. If their friends are doing it, I can’t say no to everything.”
