He has seen his personal life come under the radar in recent times, with his custody battle with his ex-wife taking up headline space of late, but Jeremy Renner was all about the joys of fatherhood in his latest interview.

The Avengers star, who is dad to two-year-old daughter Ava Berlin, couldn’t help but gush over his little one during an interview with chat show host Ellen DeGeneres.

Opening up on how fatherhood has changed his life, the 44-year-old said: “It really kind of changed my perspective on a lot of things. It’s kind of screwed my career in a lot of ways, because I don’t really care about it so much because I care about her so much.”

“She’s like number one in my life, and now I get to do movies on the side. Daddy’s my best role to date, I think,” he added.

Being the star of such blockbusters as The Avengers means that Renner is in demand, but he revealed that he often pulls out all the stops just to be able to spend a little time with his daughter.

“I do a lot of flights back. I did like 40 flights back,” he said of his time filming his latest movie, adding, “I see her sometimes for eight hours and then fly back.”

Ava is Jeremy’s daughter with ex-wife Sonni Pacheco. The pair wed in January 2014, with model Pacheco going on to file for divorce in December of that year.
