A baby has tragically been found dead in a car after a parent reportedly forgot to leave the child at nursery and went to work.
The 16-month-old baby was left for “a number of hours” in the back of a vehicle parked in a company car park in the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
Investigators revealed yesterday the baby was left in the car after the parent “went to work, forgetting to leave the baby in the usual childcare facility”.
Neuchatel prosecutor Marc Remy added, “It was not until the end of the working day when they went to pick up their child, that they realised the tragedy that had occurred.”
The identities of the baby and the parents have not yet been revealed but Mr Remy said a criminal inquiry had been opened.
