La Vendange

La Vendange is a well established complex of 5 stone cottages with enclosed gardens and heated pool  *
* On site: Four three bedroom and One four bedroom cottage. Max occupancy 5-8 people (depending on cottage) *
* 10x5m heated pool and header toddler splash pool in separate securely enclosed area *
* Fully enclosed garden with lots of play equipment *
* Play barn with ping pong, basketball hoop, table football etc *
* Setup especially for families with younger children (11 and under) *

 

The pool area (approx 250m2 including lawn and terrace) is fully enclosed (min 1.8m high wall or fence on all sides). Access is from the drive via a sprung gate closed with a childproof "Magnalatch". We are certified to the 2004 French standards for pool safety and the pool is fitted with an alarm.

 

We are well away from busy roads. The property is on a very small rural side road on the edge of a small village about 10-15 mins drive from the historic market towns of Aulnay, St Jean D'Angely and Matha. The comings and goings of our guests (and the odd tractor or combine harvester) make up most of the daily traffic. There are heavy steel gates between the childrens' playgroud and the car park and another set of gates between the car park and the road.

 

One of the reasons that La Vendange is so popular with young families is the fortified farm layout means that the 500m2 central courtyard (now a lawn and childrens' playground) is large enough for young children to have a sense of freedom, but is fully enclosed and within clear view of the cottages and most of the private outdoor dining areas. The idea is that adults can put their feet up with a book 

and a cool drink with the knowledge that their children have lots to do within an enclosed area.
