He doesn’t have too many friends in the world right now, so it was only a matter of time before Donald Trump’s wife Melania came out to publicly defend him.
The former model has leapt to her husband’s defence in her first interview since the ‘Trump Tapes’ scandal broke, insisting that his explicit comments were just ‘boy talk’.
Sitting down with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Melania said she didn’t recognise the man speaking in the now infamous recording from 2005.

“I don’t know that person that would talk that way,” she said, insisting that Trump was ‘egged on’ to say ‘dirty and bad stuff’ by presenter Billy Bush.
While Melania did concede that her husband can be a little immature, she consistently played down his shocking behaviour and comments.
“Sometimes I say I have two boys at home: I have my young son, and I have my husband. But I know how some men talk, and that’s how I saw it,” she added.

The ‘Trump Tapes’ scandal has, of course, prompted a slew of sexual harassment and assault claims - all of which Trump has refuted.
When asked about the fresh accusations, the mum-of-one insisted that she ‘believes her husband’.
Twitter has not been sympathetic to Melania this morning, with the hashtag ‘Billy Bush Made Me Do It’ now trending.

One user summed up much of the feedback in a comment, reading: “If he is a ‘boy’, he got no business near the White House. Take him on a Disney tour, ma’am.”
