She has spent the past number of weeks sharing photos of her son, each one with a loving caption, and now singer Madonna has finally addressed her heartbreak over deteriorating relations with him.

The Rebel Heart singer, who is reportedly locked in a custody battle with ex-husband Guy Ritchie over son Rocco, admitted last night that she is going through a ‘challenging’ time.

The 57-year-old told fans at her concert in Mexico City: “We all go through challenging times in our life, and that includes me. I, too, go through challenging times in my life, and right now is one of them.”

“Sometimes I think I can’t do a show; I don’t have the energy; I don’t have the strength. I come out here tonight and I can see your faces, and I look into your eyes and I see so much love, and it gives me strength…So thank you,” said the mother-of-four, who was said to be visibly emotional.

The legal matter is said to have kicked off just before Christmas, with Madonna going to court in a bid to get 15-year-old Rocco to return to her in New York. He was, and still is, in London with director father Ritchie.

The judge ordered for Rocco to return to his mother in America, stating that he would have to do so before an official custody hearing could take place. Rocco reportedly refused to go back on tour with his mother however, and his father is said to have hired a lawyer to fight for full custody.

Madonna is also mother to 19-year-old Lourdes, 10-year-old David and nine-year-old Mercy.
