One Aussie mum has earned some serious ‘cool mum’ plaudits after dressing her two little girls in costumes from everyone’s new favourite show – Stranger Things.

Mum Kelly Crawford, who blogs at Sewing in No Man’s Land, was super excited to visit Sydney’s Comic-Con with her husband and kids.

But of course one of the most important considerations when visiting Comic-Con is what on earth to wear?

“[We] saw lots of princesses and Rey from Star Wars costumes,” Kelly told Essential Kids, “and we both really wanted the girls to be something different.”

A huge fan of the binge-tastic Netflix show, the mum-of-four hit on dressing daughters Abby and Charlotte as characters Barb and Eleven.

However, Abby didn’t want to go as Barb, so her mum decided to dress her up as Joyce, missing boy Will’s distraught mum.

“We showed Abby pictures of Joyce and told her she was a super brave mum who loses her son but doesn't stop looking for him until she finds him,” she says. “She really liked that and loved that fact that she could turn her lights on and off.”

And of course the two girls went down a storm. According to Kelly, people “shrieked” when they saw the girls.

“Both girls want their costumes to be their Halloween costumes again so I call that a win!” she says.

We love the simple idea of switching the lights on and off to replicate Will’s communication from the ‘Upside Down’, and how amazing is the attention to detail on Eleven’s cossie?

Loving your work!
