From her most iconic on-screen character to her real-life persona, this star has always been open and honest when it comes to sharing her thoughts on any and every topic.

And, true to form, actress Kim Cattrall has shared some interesting insights on the issue of parenting in this modern age.

The former Sex and the City star opened up about the subject during an interview for BBC’s Woman’s Hour, and she made some very insightful points.

“I am not a biological parent, but I am a parent,” she said, adding, “I have young actors and actresses that I mentor; I have nieces and nephews that I am very close to.”

The 59-year-old also posed the question of what defines ‘parenting’ in this modern age, adding: “I think the thing that I find questionable about being childless or child-free is – are you really? I mean, there is a way to become a mother in this day and age that doesn’t include your name on the child’s birth certificate.”

“You can express that maternal side of you, very clearly, very strongly…It feels very satisfying,” she added.
