She has endured her fair share of heartache throughout her life, but has always come through looking on the bright side. Now, this star has opened up on her plans to expand her family amid fresh fertility struggles.

Presenter and acid attack survivor Katie Piper was attending V Festival last weekend when she made the revelations to the Mirror Online.

Admitting that the enduring health complications from her attack have recently had a major impact upon her health, the mother-of-one said: “I got pregnant really easily with Belle, but now I’ve got a problem with my oesophagus. If I eat anything it gets stuck and I choke, because when acid was thrown over me I swallowed some of it and it burned my throat.”

While the 31-year-old has been taking vitamin shakes to try and keep her nutrition and weight up, she admits that she doesn’t have “enough vitamins” to help her to make a baby.

Katie, who recently got engaged to her long-term partner, is now considering adopting a child from her own charity organisation.

“There are a lot of kids with burns and parents who have neglected them, and I would like to adopt,” she added.

We wish Katie all the best as she continues to fight on. She is such an inspiration.
